Reading offers a great variety of pleasures

Reading for pleasure or entertainment. Mortimer Adler, author of the classic guide to intelligent reading says that,

“All reading is active reading, i.e. it requires active effort at all times on our part.”

However, this type of reading is reading that does not demand from all. Reading for pleasure can be a stress reliever for you. Reading is a basic pleasure, there are no special rules for someone to be able to read a page, read a chapter or maybe even finish an entire book in one night if desired. The goal here is simple: have fun while enjoying. Most fiction books can be termed as reading for pleasure.

The way to develop the right reading habit is to create a reading list. Research results (Cho & Han, 2019) encourage recreational and educational reading for students and support readers to be able to create their own reading lists that are personalized to their preferences. Must be careful in choice of books, because words have the power to change us, so we should always pay attention to books and what's in them. Schedule a time for reading, it is best to optimize reading time in daily schedule. Use trial and error to figure out the best schedule for yourself. Ideally, one should read at least 30 minutes every day (Chuks Danie, 2017). Eliminate distraction, disturbance most often comes from cell phones. Sometimes other people also often shift focus with dialogue. Concentration is very important to help us stay attentive to the task at hand. This is the key point in most activities, and allows us to complete tasks successfully and effectively, and also helps us while reading. It is very important to understand how to focus on reading, because reading is a very rewarding activity. Eliminate distractions by ensuring distraction-free reading sessions. For starters, we recommend enabling do not disturb on your phone so that you stop receiving notifications. Decide! It might be scary if you've never done it before, but believe me, if you keep at it for a while, you'll start to realize the results this world has achieved, and obviously you can start to see things. Regarding other distractions such as housework, try to finish them before your session, so you can sit back, feel satisfied that your work has been done, and enjoy your book with a clear mind.

Pleasure reading can be defined as reading that is freely chosen or that readers freely and enthusiastically continue after it is assigned. Here are things that can be done to support reading for pleasure. The first activity is building a home library. Children who have books of their own enjoy reading more and read more frequently. Accor dint to the data from Critical Legal Studies (CLS) research it states that “Since reading for pleasure puts students ahead in the classroom, 95% of the time elementary school-aged students will find books for reading pleasure on each visit to the library,”(Dutton, 2020). Second step is literacy-targeted rewards. Such as books or book vouchers have been found to be more effective in developing reading motivation than rewards that are unrelated to the activity . The third is giving children a choice. Allow them to choose what they read and how they read. And the last step is role model. It means Children are guided by the teacher or their parents who act as role models for a reader (Miranda, 2020). where the children are but divided into groups each of them reading individually and reading silently (silent reading. these are the principles of ER or Extensive Reading. which is the purpose of Extensive Reading usually with some fun or entertainment getting information and understanding in general (pleasure, information, and general understanding) (Permatasari et al., 2020). Student relationship with reading can be influenced by the relationship teachers and parents have with books. In this way a lasting association of reading with a feeling of security, pleasure, and closeness is formed

Providing the best direction and focus to help someone become a better reader are tips to get someone interested in reading. The main motive of the tips given is to offer an opportunity to develop reading habits and set a standard against which to measure success.
